I got this little half moon table and mirror for free from a friend. I blew my own mind re-creating it for $4.00 cdn!! F.o.u.r.d.o.l.l.a.r.s!!
This set had already been painted....in a sloppy, choppy, some spots missing paint and some spots chipping kinda way!
Have you heard of Fusion Mineral Paint? Fusion™ is a 100% acrylic, water-based paint. The “mineral” in Fusion Mineral Paint™ refers to the pigments used which are harvested from the earth. Once cured, a surface painted with Fusion™ is both water and stain proof. No primer or top coat required, making it more of a one-step kind of paint. You had me at one step kinda paint! I sanded it in the easy get the old spots off so it's smooth to touch and no left over chippy paint kinda way AND roughing it up enough for that fantastic Fusion Mineral Paint to adhere to it! I took this little sample pot of Fusion Mineral Paint in Homestead Blue off my shelf. This is 37ml, that is 1 ounce and 7ml. Retails for $4.00 CDN
I painted the entire mirror in and around all the roses...
AND the entire table, underneath too! I re-PAINTED this ENTIRE SET with 1 ounce and 7ml!!!!! OH MA GAWD! I blew my own mind today!! Did this just happen? YES it did! I could have left it done here, at a $4.00 makeover BUT...
I wanted some added bling to the piece so I then took the Fusion tint-able glaze and mixed up some Coal Black glaze and went over the tops of the roses and over a stencil on the top of the table. I love how glaze is very transparent and subtle but punchy in the spots it needs to be. I used maybe a 1/2 teaspoon of glaze.
I'm hooked! What do you think?
